CASE is home to Research & Development projects at the intersection of arts, science and creative education.
The Research and Development (R&D) efforts of the CASE Center are in alignment with the European Commission’s vision for Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). Several of the Center’s projects and training materials were specifically defined to contribute to RRI. CASE is currently developing additional initiatives in alignment with RRI, and based on RRI’s 6 keys.
The center will function as a hub for the design and initiation of new, innovative projects in those fields, in collaboration with international networks and partners. Specifically, we are keen to pursue new knowledge about creative, practical, aesthetic and embodied learning processes in educational environments from kindergarten to teacher education and beyond. The Centre therefore aims to:
- Build regional, national and international competence in its fields of activity
- Develop R&D activities inspired by activities and goals of Norwegian and other centres of educational research
- Document and communicate our findings, results and resources
The Centre’s personnel is composed of Western Norway University of Applied Sciences’ staff, students and Ph.D candidates, as well as external scholars, researchers and artists in the relevant fields.
